conversation with self

Some men think you're lovely, intelligent, and compassionate and would love to hold you in their arms, your head resting on their shoulder, while stroking your soft, shiny auburn hair.

Some girls think you're all that too. Not in a sexual love way obviously (I'm speaking for myself at least) but I do think you're a catch. You're smart and funny and really, despite what I have said in the past about what I look for in a man, those qualities are two of the most important. Anyone - man or woman - with half a brain should be looking for those qualities too. Any man who doesn't see that in you and treats you like dirt is clearly blind or have poor taste. Their loss, Mezzie. All theirs.

:) maybe mez should listen to other mez more then, eh?

thanks Nick (though hair is never shiny...more messy and ridiculous. lol).

shaf - thank you! - you *know* the same goes for you. But this post isn't really about that (not even thinking about men as romantic prospect at the moment..). It's about trying to get beyond abuse hon :(

Maybe "self" shouldn't be too hard and should forgive herself about those years (if there was such a thing to forgive - I'm speculating here) and look forward to a different future :).

PS Love the use of colour in this one.

There's nothing to forgive, really. It's sort of hard to explain (or rather I can't...) but it's something that happened in childhood that I've only had confirmed recently. Even though it happened so long ago it's like it only just happened because *now* it's real. It explains a lot about how I have reacted to men without even knowing why and that's sort of devistating. That's why there are two mez's. The one that forgot and the one that remembered.

bah, I'm so glad only a couple of people read this journal.

Strength comes in many forms Mez. There is the 'damn the torpedoes' type, the closed off iron wall of emotions type and then there is you.

The spirit that endures and survives but can still light up a room.

thanks phil!! :) I do tend to light up a room ...but only when I have a torch with me. Maybe I'm just the crazy type who talks to herself a lot.

My stength comes from a consistent strength training regimen focusing on my arms, back, core and legs.

I can bench press a buick and squat Rosie O'Donnel. When I kiss you, you will feel it all the way down to your toes.

    mmmmmm-mmmmmmmmm BABY!
